Biography

Hoàng Hồ Khánh Vân is one of the most talented and dynamic violinists in Hanoi, known for her significant contributions to classical music. She is not only an outstanding soloist but also participates in ensemble performances, orchestras, and concert-talk programs, bringing classical music closer to the public.

Starting her violin journey at the age of 4 and a half, Khánh Vân has embarked on a rigorous learning path under the guidance of renowned violinists and educators. From 2007 to 2015, she studied at the Vietnam National Academy of Music under the mentorship of People’s Artist, Dr. Bùi Công Duy and Artist of Merit, Dr. Ngô Hoàng Linh. She further honed her skills with a Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship, studying at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Hungary from 2016 under the guidance of Professor Vilmos Szabadi. In 2021, Khánh Vân completed her Master’s degree there with outstanding results.

With a brilliant musical career, Khánh Vân has won many prestigious awards both domestically and internationally, notably:

  • First Prize at the 10th Kazakhstan International Violin Competition (2023)
  • Third Prize and the Best Vietnamese Contestant Award at the Hanoi International Music Competition (2019)
  • The Dohnányi Prize (the highest award) at the Dohnányi Ernő National Chamber Music Competition (Debrecen, Hungary) (2018)
  • First Prize at the AICC International Music Competition (Jakarta, Indonesia) (2009), among others.

Khánh Vân has had the opportunity to perform as a soloist with many prestigious orchestras, including the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra (2022-2024), the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra (2022), the Tokyo Music Academy (2020), and the Liszt Ferenc Chamber Orchestra in Hungary (2019, 2020). She has also been a member of the Asian Youth Orchestra and the Southeast Asian Youth Chamber Orchestra, touring internationally.

Currently, in addition to her role as a violin lecturer at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, Khánh Vân is also involved in the “Schubert in a Mug” music project, continuing to contribute and spread her passion for music within the community.
