Biography
Joe Kwok was graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2007 and he studied at the Academy for 7 years. He studied under Professor Wong Fu Tung and Professor Lo King Man in Hong Kong. He further studied the violin playing by studying valuable violin master pieces with Maestro Wolfgang Rihm.
He studied violin techniques with Professor Thomas Brandis in Lugano, later he studied with Maestro Detlef Hahn (student of Wolfgang Marschner) on Violin competition and Paganini violin composition for the Master Degree. Joe was also a pupil of Pierre Ivanovitch (Juarez Delafuente) who is a Professor at the Royal Academy of Performing Arts.
Joe represented the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and joined international concert in 國際青少年音樂節 with other most accomplished musicians from the orchestra with Lu Ning. After his international renowned recital, he also performed with the Macau Orchestra and the Malaysia Philharmonic Orchestra. He is a past laureate finalist who played at The Schoenbrunn Palace from 2013.
As a soloist, Joe was invited to play as soloist in many cities in China. He performed the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with the Xian Performing Arts School. He performed Sibelius’ Violin Concerto with the National Head of String at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and he received several invitations to perform the violin worldwide for concerts.
Joe is also known as a conductor. He had conducted numerous student orchestras, such as Raphael, and he was invited to perform as conductor with the Hong Kong leading school students in Marymount, Holy Cross, Paul Icon and more. Joe’s tempo focus is refined through years of music experiences.
He also worked with stars such as Candy Lo, Eddie Ng, William Chan, Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung and Paul Wong etc. The famous male group of which collaboration with Mickey Ho included also includes other stars.
He was invited to attend the Russian Music festivals from the Baikal University and was selected to attend the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts major studies. He worked to work at a platform to link his studies to perform with great success in both orchestra and chamber projects.
Joe is the Resident Conductor and the Violinist in the China Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra. The Orchestra is one of the leading Symphony Orchestras in Hong Kong and it composes both advanced western and eastern musicians. He has organized different style of concerts.
Joe is playing on an Italian violin made in 1796 by Agila, Mantua.
