Biography
Lim tshui fang, 1st prize winner of both the 1969 open section of the national piano and the 1970 Beethoven bicentenary south east Asia piano competition, comes from a family of musicians. She studied with the legendary Pianist Fou Ts’ong and his wife Patsy Toh in London.
1st prize winner of numerous national piano competitions including the bicentenary (South East Asia) Beethoven competition, Tshui Fang is a graduate in mathematics and have a Master degree in Psychology for Musicians. She is also holder of Fellowship of the Trinity College of music, Associate of the Royal College of music and Licentiate of the Royal Schools of music
She performed frequently in concerts, solo and chamber local and abroad.
Greatly interested in contemporary music , especially compositions by local composers, Tshui Fang recorded several CDs of compositions by the award winning composer Phoon Yew Tien.
As a keen and passionate teacher, she has produced many outstanding students. Many went on to study in prestigious music schools and conservatories overseas.
She is in the piano faculty of school of music in Nanyang academy of fine arts and was a lecturer of NTU/NIE.
Tshui fang has conducted many masterclasses and was jury of many competitions.
